Who am i?

My name is Erin Miller and I am graphic designer born and raised in New York City. For all you Irene Cara fans, (don't deny yourself a little Flashdance !) I attended high school at the FAME school, Fiorello H. La Guardia where I majored in Fine Arts. When deciding on colleges, I wanted to leave New York and see what the rest of the US had to offer. I wound up choosing, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago where I braved -15° winters and spent 4 wonderful years focusing on Visual Communications.

After college I came back to New York to find a job. It was the summer of 2010 and the market was scarce. I made the best of it by exposing myself to a lot of interesting and enriching experiences. I got a summer internship building/ designing props for television. When that gig was over I put my graphic design career on hold and took a 6 week class with Non-traditional employment for women to gain skills in tradesperson work. When that was done I realized I missed design and went back. I traded in my work boots for heels as a graphic designer for a fashion/ lifestyle magazine. After all that, I was finally able to put my design skills to good use and got the job I currently have today.

When I'm not graphic designing, you can usually spot me walking around my hood, Bay Ridge. I'll most likely be the nut carrying around my weight in groceries. If I'm not outside, I'm probably inside watching trash tv and doing crafts. I am a DIY queen and love making really cool pieces of furniture, revamping dolls/ action figures with cool paint jobs, and assembling cosplay outfits for upcoming conventions or my favorite holiday Halloween.
